We transfer and edit video from a variety of formats.  The Europride footage was filmed on digital video in anamorphic* mode, the Lisbon movie on digital video in matted widescreen* format.  Trooping the Colour was filmed on analogue Video8 tape then transferred and edited on digital video.  (* see 'A note on video formats' below).

The artwork and cover designs demonstrate how your DVD covers and disc labels can be customised with your personal photographs as opposed to our standard covers.

A note on video formats
Anamorphic Widescreen:  When a movie is filmed in anamorphic widescreen the picture is stretched vertically so that it uses all the available picture lines (on a PAL system this is 576 lines).  When displayed on a widescreen TV the image is stretched horizontally to fill the screen, thus producing a properly proportioned image.  On a normal 4:3 TV screen (and in the Europride video above), the image is compressed vertically and black bars inserted at the top and bottom of the picture.
Matted Widescreen:  The movie is filmed in widescreen mode with black bars at the top and bottom of the picture.  When displayed the black bars remain at the top and bottom of the picture.
Aspect Ratio:  This describes the ratio of the width of a film frame to its height in units.  A widescreen TV broadcast is 16:9, where the screen is 16 units wide and 9 units high, whereas a pre-widescreen TV is 4:3.  Feature films come in many aspect ratios, from 4:3 (almost square), right up to 2.35:1 (long and thin).  Note:  4:3 can be written as 1.33:1 (4 divided by 3 equals 1.33), and thus 16:9 is the same as 1.77:1.
