What is the audio & video quality of the
transfers?
The quality of the recordings is really based on your original
material. If your original is a VHS or 8mm film, then you will get VHS
or 8mm quality. If your original is from a HI-8, S-VHS or Mini DV, you
will get very high resolution video & digital quality sound.
Usually the DVD's image will be slightly better then the original.
How many minutes of stereo audio & video
will fit onto a disc?
To maintain the highest quality of sound and picture we record up to
120 minutes (2 hours) onto one DVD disc .
If you send in two tapes each containing 3 hours of video (6 hours),
you would get back the original tapes plus 3 DVD disc's (2 hours each).
Total cost = £48.00 + VAT.
Obviously, if you prefer to have more than 2 hours
on each DVD we can do this for you.
What if I have a tape that is longer than one disc
can hold?
If your original material is longer than 2 hours, you will need 2 or
more disc's to complete the transfer. One DVD disc can hold up to 6
hours though quality will not be as good. If you want all your material
on one disc let us know at the time of ordering.
Can I put more than 1 tape onto a disc?
Yes. We can put up to 6 hours onto one disc though we recommend a
maximum of 2 hours on each DVD to achieve the best possible quality.
What if I have several tapes that I want
transferred to DVD?
No problem. If you don't want us to do custom printing on your disks,
then just fill out one order form for all of your tapes. We will
package the new DVD with your original tape so you know what disk goes
to which tape. Then you can write onto the disk whatever you want as
far as program name, etc. If you need us to custom print the disks,
then you need to affix an order form to each tape so we know what you
want printed on the disks.
How much will the postage charges be if I send in
more then one tape to be transferred to DVD?
If you send in between 2-5 tapes for transfer to DVD, the total
shipping charge is £4.50.
Does the Disc created by you play on a DVD set-top
player?
Yes, the Disc will play on almost all DVD players. Most of the new
players are compatible. To find out if your DVD player is compatible,
check your owners manual or contact your players manufacturer and ask
if your system plays DVD-R media.
I had a disk transferred and when I play it on my
DVD player or computer, it either plays for a few minutes and then the
screen turns blue, or it doesn't play at all, why?
This happens when your DVD player is not 100% DVD-R compatible. Check
with your instruction manual to make sure that your machine will play
DVD-R disks.
How do I view the video on my PC?
To view the Disc on a PC, place the disc in your DVD drive. Launch the
DVD video software that came with your computer or DVD drive and play
the large file on the disc.
After I get the DVD, can I edit the material on my
computer?
To edit a DVD, copy the largest file from the disk that you receive to
your hard drive and then rename the "VOB" file extension to: "MPG". You
will then be able to play and edit the disk on your computer providing
you have a DVD-R drive and editing software.
If I use my computer to view the disc, will it play
"Full Screen"?
Yes, it will play just like any movie DVD.
Does the price include labels or printing on the
Disc?
Custom printing is included on every disc. You can choose from many
Graphics and Full Color Backgrounds. You can also use your own artwork
and we'll custom print it directly onto the disc.
What happens when I insert the disk into my player?
When you place the disk into your player, it will display a menu screen
showing the title of each programme and a thumbnail image. Simply
select the programme to watch and press play and your program will
begin.
Will the disk have menus and/or chapters?
There is a main menu which shows the title of each programme on the DVD
and a thumbnail image. We do not create a chapter index, however
chapters marks are automatically inserted every 5 -8 minutes which can
be accessed using the skip button on your DVD remote control. If you
want to get to another section on the disk you can always use the fast
forward function that all DVD players have.
How should I mail my master tape(s) to you for
transfer?
Tapes should be placed in a small box or padded jiffy bag along with
our Video to DVD Transfer Order Form. Your material is valuable and you
may wish to send via Royal Mail Special Delivery to minimise the risk
of loss or damage.
Are sleeves included in the price?
Yes. White Sleeves come with each disc ordered. For more packaging
options, see the Video to DVD Transfer Order Form.
How long does it take to get to get the job done?
Once we receive your tape(s), the order is processed and shipped within
2 working days.
What format can my master video tape be?
We can transfer from the following formats:
VHS * SVHS * Mini DV * 8MM * HI-8 * Digital 8 * NTSC * PAL
(Foreign video tapes must first be converted to the PAL System)
Can you make a DVD from a foreign video tape?
Yes. We can transfer NTSC and PAL video tapes.
Can you make transfers from a tape recorded at the
slow speed?
Yes, however the faster the speed your tape was recorded at, the better
the quality. For best results, only use the fast (SP) speed when
recording a VHS tape.
How should I fill out the order form?
Neatly print or type. A signature is required on all orders.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cheques, postal orders and UK sterling money orders. At the
moment we do not accept credit cards. We do not recommend sending cash.
If I already have a DVD disc, can you make copies
of it?
Yes. We make make duplicates of any DVD as long as it does not have
copy protection recorded on it and it is your own material.
What happens if I get a defective Disc?
All copies are guaranteed against defects for 30 days. If you are not
absolutely pleased with your order we will be happy to make an exchange
or refund (less original P+P). Simply return the item to us within 30
days via registered Post.
Can you transfer or copy adult material?
Yes, but ONLY if it used for research or educational purposes.
